Flowering of the Cross

We invite you to participate in our Easter “Flowering of the Cross.”

We are going to put up a cross on the fence by the sidewalk at the intersection in front of the church.  It’ll be just a rough wooden cross with chicken-wire wrapped around it.  It will go up on Saturday before Easter at 5:00 pm and we would like to invite you to stop by the church on Saturday evening or Sunday morning and bring a few flowers with short stems to help decorate the cross.

It’s an inspiring thing to see it go from that rough wooden cross to a beautiful cross of flowers.  It’s a great symbolic way of expressing the hope of Easter.  In fact, that’s the title of the Easter sermon - “An Easter Hope.”  And this is a way that we can share our hope and faith in Jesus Christ in a visible way with the community around us.  If you are not able to stop by you will be able to see the pictures on our website.
